Joe and Jessica Thwaite will appear in an interview on Thursday Sky News to tell about his Lotto luck. The couple won the top prize in the Euromillions last week, of a modest 184 million pounds.
Joe Thwaite says he found out about the win through the National Lottery app. When he checked the numbers and the prize there, he had to put down the phone – he could not believe it was true.
His wife Jess was still asleep and would not get up until 20 minutes later, so he let her sleep on and instead went to a real estate site to look at houses as they had been talking about buying a house for a while.

Now he could for the first time turn off the price filter in the search, says Thwaite.
When Jessica woke up, he said that “he had a secret to tell her.”
“Do not be stupid,” was her response. She thought her husband had made a mistake because he was not wearing his glasses.
The couple has been anonymous until now.
According to Sky News, the gain is enough to buy four Caribbean islands or eleven luxury six-bedroom apartments in the Hyde Park area of London.
Joe Thwaite is a sales engineer, while his wife runs a hair salon. The couple has been married for eleven years and have two primary school children together, in addition to Joe Thwaite having two children who go to university.
– I generally have miserable luck, smiles Joe Thwaite, who will probably have to settle for meeting opposition if he is to use that statement in the future.
He tells Sky News that he normally only buys lottery tickets if the prizes are big.
