This Wednesday, the Women’s Champions League qualifiers continued. Apollon Limassol Ladies FC faced Pyunik Women, an Armenian team. With a goal from Chelsea Surpris, the blue and whites beat their opponents 3-0 and advance to the next round.
In this match counting for the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League qualifiers, Chelsea Surpris occupied the left-back position for the Cypriot club. The Grenadière scored her team’s second goal with a beautiful long-range strike at the start of the second half (51st). Before that, Natasha Hudson had opened the scoring at the end of the first half (45+6), and Elizabeth Oppong came to close the ball in stoppage time (90+5) and thus allowed the Ladies to win 3 goals to 0 over Pyunik Women.
For the next round, the Haitian defender and her teammates will cross arms with ZNK Mura, a Slovenian team. Note that the Apollon Limassol players are two games away from reaching the final phase of the Champions League.
The next phase will take place on September 7th, the meeting between ZNK Mura and the Ladies of Apollon will take place in Paphos in Cypriot lands.
