In consultation with the TV partners, the DFB has scheduled the first two match days in the women’s Bundesliga at exactly the right time. The first free TV game has also been announced.

It has been clear since mid-July that SC Freiburg will open the Bundesliga season on September 15 with a home game against FC Bayern Munich at 6:15 p.m. And that ZDF will also broadcast the encounter free-to-air. On Friday, however, the remaining games of the first and the entire second day of the game were scheduled precisely.

On September 16, i.e. Saturday, there are two games on the program: Hoffenheim welcomes MSV Duisburg (12:00 noon) before Bundesliga promoted Nuremberg celebrates their premiere against Werder Bremen two hours later. On Sunday, three games are exceptionally scheduled: 1. FC Köln welcomes second league newcomer RB Leipzig (from 2 p.m.), cup winners VfL Wolfsburg meets Bayer 04 Leverkusen (4.30 p.m.) and SGS Essen meets Eintracht Frankfurt (6.30 p.m.).

The first day of play is immediately followed by a period of suspension in the international FIFA calendar, so that the ball does not start rolling again in the women’s Bundesliga until September 29th. RB Leipzig opened the second match day with their first Bundesliga home game against SGS Essen (6.30 p.m.). The next day, Nuremberg are guests in Leverkusen (12 p.m.) and Hoffenheim in Bremen (2 p.m.). The cracker between Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg (2 p.m.) is scheduled for October 1st. In the evening (6 p.m.) Freiburg will open in Duisburg.

Bayern with two highlights in quick succession

On October 2nd (7.30 p.m.) there will be a real premiere: For the newly created Monday date as a unique selling point, the first choice for a free TV broadcast on “Sport1” fell on the comparison between FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Cologne. The Munich team has already announced the next highlight: On matchday 4, the reigning German champions will meet Eintracht Frankfurt in the Allianz Arena.

Incidentally, all games in the women’s Bundesliga can still be seen live on “MagentaSport”, and DAZN also broadcasts all 132 games per season live and in full length in the pay area.
