Colombia. The Argentine women’s soccer team will seek this Monday its direct qualification for the New Zealand-Australia 2023 World Cup when it faces Colombia for one of the semifinals of the women’s Copa América.
The match will be played at the Alfonso López Stadium in Bucaramanga, starting at 9:00 p.m., Argentine time, and will be broadcast live and direct to the entire country through Public TV.
In the case of beating the Colombians, who have been showing great production, Argentina will get a ticket to the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Germán Portanova’s team finished second in group B, with 9 points and behind Brazil, the candidate for the title, and has just beat Venezuela 1-0 on the last date.
Colombia exhibited a good level by winning group A with the ideal score through victories against Paraguay (4-2), Bolivia (3-0), Ecuador (2-1) and Chile (4-0).
The difference in the FIFA ranking also shows a slight advantage for those who will officiate at home. The selected “coffee grower” is in 28th place, while the Argentines are in 35th place.
The national team has already secured a place in the intercontinental playoff for the 2023 World Cup, although if they finish among the first three places, they will qualify directly.
