NEW YORK – According to police, two women allegedly responsible for stealing a few thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise from a Walmart in New York City had a baby at the center of their operation.
The two adult suspects, both from Yonkers, were arrested last month after hitting the Mohegan Lake Walmart on East Main Street, New York State Police said.
Police officers responding to the store determined that the women stole more than $3,500 worth of property from the store, using a child to rob the store.
Rosa Margolla and Rosa Margolla Rivera, aged 58 and 40, were arrested on 21 November on charges of aggravated theft and endangering the well-being of a child.
Police said both women appeared during an initial trial and are expected to return to court next week. Information about their lawyers was not immediately available.
