A new season means a new wind, so get The Cooke & Verhulst show, which will soon be restarting on Play4, some fresh table guests. Rani De Coninck regularly joined James Cooke and Gert Verhulst this spring, and Margriet Hermans and Tine Embrechts are now joining them. The latter is mainly associated with her work for VTM, although it is not the intention that she will appear in a number of other Play4 programs from now on. The Cooke & Verhulst show saw a dip in viewership in April, shortly after its launch, but then bounced back. The figures eventually climbed on average to well above 400,000. In addition to this cross-pollination, Gert Verhulst and James Cooke will also be broadcasting programs separately on Play4 next fall. In The Verhulstjes this time the family is followed in sunny Saint-Tropez, where they have a country house, and Cooke comes with James, the musical. In it, the lives of well-known Flemish people are cast in – yes – a musical, each with a different guest who plays a central role.
