The men can pack up there
Sorry men, but unfortunately you don’t stand a chance against dogs in bed – at least that’s what a new study from the USA says. Because according to this, women sleep much better when they have a four-legged friend next to them. Sure, it is of course really nice and cozy, but according to the study, that alone is not the only reason.
Study with around 1000 women
The researcher Christy Hoffman, who works as a professor of animal behavior at Cansius College in New York, interviewed a total of 962 participants for her study. These were divided into groups: women who take a dog to bed at home, women who do this with their cat and women who share a bedroom with a man. Lo and behold: the women who fall asleep with a dog next to them enjoy a more restful and deeper sleep than the other participants. But why is that?

Dogs have a calming effect
Results of the study showed that the dogs have a calming effect on women and make them feel safe. In addition, the women stated that the dogs are so comfortable sleeping companions because they are the least disruptive. Well, dear men, you can probably cut a slice of it! Because when asked why dogs are so calming and less disturbing, the researcher has a very simple and plausible answer: dogs adapt – and thus also their sleeping behavior – to that of their mistresses. In the video: Does sleeping five times a day make you more productive? RTL reporter does the self-test
Sleeping five times a day for just 90 minutes? Sounds exhausting, but supposedly it is supposed to make you more efficient and fitter. At least soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo swears by so-called polyphasic sleep – and still delivers top-class performance.
But does interval sleeping really make mere mortals fitter? Our reporter Max Fassbender tried it out. How sleeping in portions worked for him and whether he actually feels fitter and rested as a result – in the video.
