Women of SC Freiburg experience a pitch-black day against Hoffenheim

1: 5 in the home game against North Baden women

Anyone who thinks that the men of SC Freiburg have had a used weekend should bear in mind that the Bundesliga women from Breisgau fared no better. On Sunday, the Freiburg women were clearly defeated by TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the Möslestadion at home with 1: 5 (0: 3).

With bright sunshine, but without a spectator, the game began in the Waldsee district of Freiburg – initially with a good opportunity for the hosts when Hasret Kayikci took the free kick 18 meters in front of the Hoffenheim housing, but only hit the post (8th). A higher quality first opportunity was booked a little later by the Hoffenheim team, when SC defender Lisa Karl deflected a shot with her arm and thus caused a hand penalty. Nicole Billa converted the penalty kick to 1-0 for the guests (16.).

It was the initial spark in a strong game of the Kraichgau women. Ten minutes after the lead, Tabea Waßmuth headed to 2-0. The Hoffenheim woman tied the double pack just moments later when she made it 3-0 by direct acceptance (31st). Once again, the Breisgau women were unlucky when the leather hit the post. So it went into the break with the same interim result that the men were behind after 45 minutes.

Second half, next goal for TSG: Paulina Krumbiegel, who had already kicked the cross in 2-0, now increased to 4-0 herself (48th). SC sniper Kayikci shortened to 1: 4 with a soulful flick, but the final point was again set by the guests, again in the person of Nicole Billa, who finally cemented the Hoffenheim victory.

Due to the upcoming qualifying matches for the European soccer championship and the DFB-Pokal round of 16, the ball in the women’s Bundesliga will now rest for three weeks. The next competitive game of the SC women will take place on December 5th (2pm). In the DFB Cup, the Breisgau players meet the
Regional league SV 67 Weinberg.
