Very often cited as one of the references of the goalkeeper position in the world of women’s football, the Chilean Christiane Endler is once again on the list of finalist goalkeepers for the The Best 2020 Trophy awarded by FIFA. The captain of the selection of Chile shares the poster with the French Sarah Bouhaddi (Lyon) and the American Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars). And despite her record somewhat lower than the other two finalists, the Paris Saint-Germain player can count on the massive vote of her compatriots and Parisian supporters to tip the scales in her favor!

For the female XI of the year 2020, there are several Parisian players in the possible choices. Endler for the goalkeeper therefore, but also the Polish Paulina Dudek and the Spanish captain Irène Paredes in defense, Formiga in the middle, but no representative in attack. The roster also includes several former club players. These include Vero Boquete, Shirley Cruz, Tobin Heath, Kosovare Asllani, Amandine Henry, Jennifer Hermoso. Without denigrating anyone, we can however ask questions about the choice of players selected when we peel the season of some previously mentioned, who could have left their places to players who marked the season of their club. A thought for Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Kadidiatou Diani or even Grace Geyoro.

To finish with the individual awards, striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto was voted D1 Arkéma player of the month for November. The PSG goalscorer was opposed to her teammates Nadia Nadim and Kadidiatou Diani. Katoto takes over from Diani, who was elected D1 Arkéma’s player of the month for October.
