Women / Before HAC – Montpellier: continue the momentum!

The great victory against Saint-Etienne is still in everyone’s memory, and the eyes still sparkle at the mention of these five Le Havre goals, of this resounding first success… But the ball is made in such a way that it turns quickly: the Hacwomen must already move on with the Montpellier reception this Friday!

Finally, moving on… Not quite! As they used their defeats against Nantes, Paris FC and PSG to build their victory against Saint-Etienne, Le Havre can rely on this last match to continue. They now have proof that their work pays off, that when you incorporate the right ingredients in the right way, you are likely to obtain a tasty recipe… that you will want to come back for again.

To apply against Montpellier? Because facing Les Havraises this Friday stands this club well anchored in the landscape of French women’s football, a club with stated ambitions… not really satisfied in recent seasons and which, after budgetary restructuring, experienced some significant departures last summer : Faustine Robert, Maëlle Lakrar, Nérilia Mondésir, Maelys Mpomé, left the Hérault club with the workforce now a little rejuvenated. However, Marion Torrent and Léa Khelifi (both A internationals) are still there, as are confirmed players such as Océane Deslandes, Sonia Ouchène, or the former Hacwoman Kethna Louis. Also note the arrival of Ella Palis, French international, from Juve. Yannick Chandioux’s squad therefore remains of high quality. Despite this, the Montpellier women were unable, last weekend, to overcome the promoted Strasbourg (0-0). In the ranking, they are just ahead of the HAC, with a head start: 8th, with 4 points, having suffered two defeats against PSG and Lyon, and having won in front of Reims.

Maxime Di Liberto knows this MHSC well, having spent six years there, notably as coach of the U19F. He even had under his command some players who are now professionals… Montpellier players like Judith Coquet, but also Le Havre Zoé Stiévenart, trained in Hérault. The Ciel&Marine coach knows that we will therefore have to play as a team again, the one with the well-oiled cogs as we saw last week, and know how to transform the opportunities that are sure to present themselves. Led by a gala Laurie Cance, who will celebrate her 200 D1 matches this Friday, the Hacwomen will be keen to present the same radiant face as last week. Acquiring a second success in a row would allow them to build up their confidence before a first international break…
