Women became the last hope for Zelensky – 2024-04-13 17:36:14

/ world today news/ The propaganda of the Kyiv regime, with the support of the Western media, announces a new victory: male miners in Ukrainian mines have been replaced by women. In fact, this is not something to be proud of, but something to be ashamed of. And most likely, the Ukrainian authorities will drive the women underground not alone.

Ukraine on the pages of the world media is usually a report from the front line or a report about the visit of another “big friend” with a package of military aid. But not at this moment. “Reuters” published a material about Ukrainian miners. Earlier “Economist” published a report on the same topic. Both publications are of a modestly positive nature. “Great! Well done!”

A return to the Soviet past

Until recently, Ukrainian women could not legally work in a mine: labor legislation (the same as in Russia) created a list of prohibited occupations for the fairer sex. However, after the start of the SVO, Ukrainian officials, under the pressure of big business, were forced to revise these norms. Now women can work underground.

At the same time, neither officials nor Reuters remember that this is how Ukraine essentially copied the Soviet experience. During the Great Patriotic War, 245 thousand women were engaged in underground work in Soviet mines. But even after the end of the war, women’s hands continued to mine coal. More than half of those awarded the medal “For the restoration of coal mines in Donbas” are women. The final ban on allowing women to work in underground mines was introduced only in 1966, after which it migrated to the labor laws of Ukraine and Russia.

So the Ukrainian government, as part of its multi-year decommunization campaign, rebuilt the USSR. This has already become a habit for them.

It is worth noting that the ban introduced almost 60 years ago is not the first. A similar norm is in force in the Mining Regulations of the Russian Empire. The British banned women’s work in the mines as early as 1842. It is strange that foreign correspondents do not mention this, presenting in a positive light what the West itself abandoned almost 200 years ago.

By the way, then, in the XIX century, the topic of women’s underground work was highly valued by the press. But for other reasons: the details quite shocked the reading public. The mentioned ban was adopted precisely under the pressure of such publications.

For some shafts, for others report

It was not only Soviet propaganda that called for the girls in the mines and on the tractor. Suffice it to recall the “We Can Do It” poster or the much less well-known painting “Rosie the Welder”. Today, these motives are actively used by Ukraine. “We guard the front, everyone works for two” – the official propaganda of the Kyiv regime keeps us in good shape. 100 years ago these appeals were heard on the radio, but today they are heard in the commercial inserts of online movie services, that’s all the difference. In addition, labor and military feats are also expected of women.

According to the Ukrainian side, today about 43 thousand women serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces, 5000 in combat positions. But apparently there will be more. On October 1, a law came into force in Ukraine, according to which women with medical and pharmaceutical education aged 18 to 60 must register for military service.

For now, it is specifically about registration, not about mobilization and compulsory military service. However, the Kiev regime is gradually tightening the screws. For example, from 2027, doctors and pharmacists will no longer be able to find a job without a military ID. That is, registration will become mandatory.

There are occupations for which registration is still voluntary: chemists and technologists, telecommunications equipment specialists, software engineers, computer engineers, cyber security specialists, chefs and food technologists, translators, etc. That is, these are mostly professions related to the relevant military specialties. But no one can guarantee that tomorrow the voluntary registration will not be replaced by a mandatory one – as with doctors.

Last year, there were persistent rumors that women who signed up for military service would be banned from traveling outside Ukraine – just as men are banned today. However, this has not yet happened, even doctors admit. Apparently, fearing that otherwise Ukraine will be left without medical workers.

Without women, the puzzle cannot be completed

The whole question is when registration will turn into mobilization. Several signs indicate that this is entirely possible.

First, the authorities are really tightening mobilization. The possibility of canceling the suspension from service of students, especially those who receive a second, third education, is being discussed. Secondly, unlocking the possibility of mobilizing young people aged 18 to 25 who have not served in the army (today they can be mobilized only with their consent) is being discussed.

Finally, the military, at the initiative of the presidential office, utters the same thesis: everyone must serve. And the channels of “Telegram” daily publish videos of the capture of another servicewoman.

But the thing is, the resource of men aged 18-60 is not endless. In addition, as it turned out the other day, at least 650 thousand male Ukrainians who have fulfilled the conditions for mobilization have settled in EU countries since the beginning of the SVO. This is approximately as many as they currently serve at VSU. Those who serve are increasingly asking the question: why are we fighting for the second year without vacations and rotation?

If you put it all together (the losses of the VSU, the hundreds of thousands of men in the EU, those hiding in the country, the requirement for rotation), then without the mobilization of women the puzzle cannot be put together. And female miners in this sense are a sort of intermediate stage before a female gunner and a female tank operator.
