Women and families were banned from the garden areas of restaurants by the Afghan Taliban in Herat

After their return to power, the Taliban strictly limited the rights of women in general, once again imposed on them the strict rules of Islam, according to their interpretation, excluding them from public life and to a large extent from education. Among other things, women were forbidden to enter parks.

Nazir also denied reports that the sale of DVDs containing foreign films, television programs and music had been banned in the province. As he said, they only recommended to the shopkeepers not to sell such merchandise, considering that it is against Muslim virtues. However, he added that stores that did not follow the recommendations were closed over time.
