Woman’s teeth knocked out during carnival in Prinsenbeek

A 53-year-old woman from Prinsenbeek was severely assaulted by a man on Sunday evening. That happened on the Paantjensstraat in her hometown. The man slammed his fist into the woman’s face, causing several teeth to fall out of her mouth. Shortly afterwards, the police arrested a 56-year-old man as a suspect.

The woman said that she had been celebrating carnival all day in Prinsenbeek with her partner, children and their supporters. They had parked their car on the Paantjensstraat. They regularly walked back to that car to get stuff out of it.

Around half past ten in the evening there was an argument with a group that accused the woman and her family of something. It’s not clear from what. The argument escalated into a fight, in which the woman was punched in the face.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance. Due to the abuse, she is missing her front teeth and a canine tooth. The woman has filed a report.
