Video: dog thief shootout
A Florida woman almost paid with her life to sell two dogs. She got into a shootout with three suspected dog thieves on Monday evening, as reported by the local 10 News broadcaster. According to police, a 16-year-old was arrested; the two other participants should also be young people. A surveillance camera recorded the crime – you can see it in our video.
Wife thought teenagers were there because of the dogs
The woman reports that there was a knock on her door that evening. There were three boys standing there. At first she thought the three had come because of the exotic dogs that she breeds and sells. But then the woman realized that something was wrong. “I asked what was going on here – then one of them grabbed me,” she recalls. “The other two guys also seemed to go nuts.”
Ball barely missed the dog breeder’s head
The teenager holds a gun to the woman’s head, she screams and tries to free herself. Then shots are fired. A bullet barely misses her head as she takes cover behind her car. The dog breeder also shoots the youngsters who escape with dogs worth around $ 4,000.
Florida: Police are hoping for witnesses
The woman explains that she feared for her life and that of her friend. “I would have done anything to protect my girlfriend and my house.” According to investigators, she is not expected to be charged as she has merely defended herself.
Police believe there was a fourth person involved in a getaway car. Now the officials hope that witnesses will come forward who recognize one or more of the young people. (bst)
