When commemorating World Cancer Day this month, February 4, Catalina Lucero, 60 years old, said that in 2007 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and in 2008 she underwent surgery to remove the anomaly.

He said that one of the first symptoms that he presented was the leakage of fluid from one of the nipples and later he noticed it sinking. At that time, she decided to go for a medical consultation because she knew that they were warning signs in the matter of breast cancer and it was confirmed that she had the disease.

“When they gave me the news of breast cancer, of course I was scared. I thought I was going to die because that’s what you think when you hear the word cancer, but then it passed because the doctors reassured me and assured me that everything would be fine. Besides, I always had faith in God that I would be able to recover and that’s how it was, ”he said.

FAMILY SUPPORT IMPORTANT

Despite the fact that Catalina Lucero managed to defeat breast cancer, she continues to undergo regular medical check-ups to verify that the disease does not occur again and until today, everything is going well with her health.

He recommended that women and men, whether or not they have symptoms of any disease, see their doctor frequently so that they know their state of health, as a timely visit can save their life.

He considered that, in the cancer recovery stage, it is essential to have the support of the family because feeling loved and valued helps prevent depression and regain the will to live.

For Mrs. Lucero Ozuna, it was difficult times that she had to go through, but currently she maintains her positive mind and invests her time in making tamales, champurrado and flour tortillas to sell in grocery stores and in flea markets.
