A woman died in the night between Friday and Saturday at her home in Klaprosstraat in Asten after being stabbed. A 24-year-old man from Deurne was arrested. According to local residents, this is the son of the slain resident, but police cannot confirm this yet.
The first news of the stabbing came shortly after midnight on Friday evening. An ambulance was also called for help. This was useless.
Bumblebee
Police forensic specialists are investigating what exactly happened this Saturday morning. A police van is at the door, barrier tapes hang in the house.
Local residents say the police were often at the woman’s door, especially for her son who is now allegedly arrested. “Sometimes he was a bumblebee,” says one of them. According to another, the woman had four children, two of whom still lived at home.

Around noon, two bouquets of flowers are at home. A 57-year-old local resident puts them down. She is in tears. “I knew her well. She was such a sweet woman. She was always there for everyone.”
