NEW YORK – Authorities are searching for a violent suspect who stabbed a woman as she walked through Times Square in broad daylight.
The attack occurred at 10 a.m. Sunday between 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue, when the 59-year-old woman told police a man approached her and, without provocation, ambushed her and cut off her right hand.
She was taken to Bellevue Hospital for medical attention and is in stable condition.
Surveillance video released by the NYPD shows the woman apparently walking down 42nd Street when, out of nowhere and for no apparent reason, the man rushes up behind her, shoots her with the sharp object, stabs her in hand and then back away.
