In the video: Protester spat on police officers

Votes are still counted in many states. The outcome of the US presidential election is still unclear. In several cities people take to the streets, in some places there are riots, as recently in New York. A 24-year-old protester yells “F *** you, you fascist” at a police officer and spat at him. Then the situation escalates, as can be seen in the video.

57 arrests in New York

While many Trump supporters are demonstrating to stop the counting of votes, the majority of Biden supporters are calling for every vote to be counted.

A total of 57 people were arrested in New York on Wednesday evening (local time). Including a demonstrator who first insulted an officer and then spat on them. The video has since gone viral. The police responded to the scene on Twitter: “Actions like these will not be tolerated. Provocateurs will be arrested.”

Hundreds of demonstrators had gathered in Manhattan, but they did not remain peaceful. Some of them threw eggs at officers and one person smashed a shop window, the police said. The police confiscated a knife, stun gun, spray paint and several fireworks.

There was also an uncontrolled situation in the US state of Nevada that has been going viral since then. During a press conference on the vote count, a Trump supporter suddenly ran onto the stage and berated Joe Biden. His t-shirt read “BBQ, beer, freedom”. Then he turned and walked away. “Where did we get to?” A spokesman asked the journalists. The city’s employees are obviously not put off by such actions.

Third day after the US presidential election

On the third day after the US presidential election, when the remaining votes are counted, challenger Joe Biden is getting closer to victory. In Pennsylvania, incumbent Donald Trump’s lead fell to around 22,500 votes early Friday morning (local time). In Georgia, Trump was still a good 1,200 votes ahead of Biden.

Pennsylvania in particular, with its 20 voters, could play a decisive role. Victory in the state would put Biden just above the 270-person voter mark it takes to win the presidential election.
