There are two outbreaks in two homes of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Barcelos with a total of 74 infected – 54 users and 20 employees, the institution revealed today.
An outbreak is at Lar Rainha D. Leonor, where 38 users and 12 employees registered with positive results. And at Lar da Misericórdia the outbreak affects 16 users and eight employees.
“In the remaining residential structures for the elderly, Lar Nossa Sra. Da Misericórdia, Lar Santo André and Lar Comendadora Maria Eva Nunes Corrêa, as well as in the Integrated Continuous Care Unit, tests have been carried out, and no case is currently being registered. positive for SARS-CoV-2, neither in users nor in collaborators ”, stresses Misericórdia in a statement.
In one of the four Early Childhood Education units, Centro Social Comendadora Maria Eva Nunes Corrêa (Silveiros), two children tested positive, having been infected in a family context.
The children were already in isolation at home when they took the test, but as a matter of precaution, the respective classes were sent home, adds the institution.
“All families – whether in the referred residential structures for the Elderly, or in the Childhood Education unit – were immediately informed”, says the statement, concluding that Misericórdia is, “from the first moment, focused on protecting and ensuring best possible care for the approximately 1700 users it serves daily and its more than 400 employees ”.
It should be remembered that Misericórdia had already registered outbreaks in Lar de Santo André and in the Centro Infantil de Barcelos.
