NEW YORK – A woman walking her two dogs in the Bronx was struck by a hit-and-run driver and one of the dogs was killed, police said in an update Wednesday.
The victim was near the corner of Grand Concourse and Mosholu Parkway in Kingsbridge last night when an Audi crashed into her while she was out walking her puppies, police said. The woman suffered a concussion to her forehead and is expected to recover, police said.
Both dogs were taken to the vet in critical condition. One later died and the other is expected to survive.
After initially saying the driver fled the scene, police said Wednesday the driver remained at the scene and has not been charged.
No other details were immediately available.
