Woman rescued amid flood – NBC Dallas (39)

Firefighters in Fort Worth yesterday rescued a woman who was washed away by flooding in a neighborhood north of Saginaw.

The woman’s minivan was washed away in the floodwaters near the intersection of Bent Oak Drive and Wagley Robertson Road.

An NBC 5 viewer captured video of firefighters rescuing the woman. She could be seen clinging to a tree branch as the water ran around her.

Fortunately, the rescuers were able to reach her and take her to safety. She wasn’t hurt but she was a bit shocked.

“I think it’s a very powerful thing to be able to tell people that this can absolutely happen to you. If you see water, please don’t drive into the water if you see it on the road. You don’t know how deep it is, you don’t know how deep. fast moving. Tonight is an example of a situation that could have been much worse, we could have been here doing a recovery rather than a rescue, “said Michael Drivdahl of the Fort Worth Police Department.

The fire department responded to several other calls but none where a rescue was needed. The people inside the stopped cars were able to get away from the car.

Denton firefighters rate the accident as one of the worst where, due to the impact, two minors and one adult lost their lives. Here we tell you more.
