A woman in her mid-40s has confessed to four charges of defiling a person under the age of 17 between 2008 and 2009. The victim in question was only 14 years old at the time, and the incidents happened in various locations across two counties. Despite being granted bail and legal aid for her upcoming court appearance, the woman has been warned to refrain from contacting the victim or any witnesses in the case. The Director of Public Prosecutions has directed her to stand trial in Cork Circuit Criminal Court either through an indictment or a signed plea. The accused was previously charged with having sex with the 14-year-old over a decade ago.
