Woman on Bonaire arrested for test fraud • Sydney eases lockdown next week

Next Monday, Sydney will relax the lockdown in the city that has been in place for four months. This is possible because a vaccination rate of 70 percent has been achieved, the authorities say.

Fully vaccinated people in New South Wales are allowed to go back to pubs, non-essential shops, cinemas and gyms. Visitors still have to keep their distance from each other. More vaccinated people are also allowed to visit each other at home. People who have not been fully vaccinated must remain in isolation at home until December 1.

Melbourne and Canberra have also been in lockdown for a number of weeks due to increasing infections from the delta variant. Depending on the vaccination rate, those cities will relax the measures. At 80 percent, for example, the nightclubs can open again under conditions and the mask obligation in the office will expire.
