As reported by ‘BBC NEWS’, the bodies of Virginia McCullough’s parents were found in September 2023 at their place of residence. However, Forensic reports revealed that both had died in June 2019.
The woman confessed to the authorities that after murdering her father John, 70, and her mother Lois, 71, she buried them in a homemade tomb that she made herself in a closet in the family home.
To cover up the crime, the woman posed as her parents, answering calls, answering messages and paying bills, as if nothing had happened.
However, McCullough’s secret was finally discovered by the UK police who, after receiving an alert from Lois and Jhon’s GP, opened an investigation into missing persons.

“I must show you what is upstairs. “There is my father’s body,” the woman told the police. The officers refused to go up, under the pretext of wanting to preserve the crime scene intact.
For security, The woman was handcuffed while she was questioned about her mother’s whereaboutsto which she responded that the 71-year-old woman was “behind the bed, in the back, next to the sink.”
After conducting the corresponding investigations, the court report revealed that McCullough purchased plastic gloves and sleeping bags to wrap the bodies.

Virginia McCullough premeditated the murder of her father, supplying him a drug cocktail in a drink, he confessed to authorities. With that same mixture, she also planned to kill her mother.
Prosecutor Lisa Wilding reported that, although the dose administered killed the father, the mixture only managed to sedate Lois. For fear of being discovered, Virginia McCullough hit the woman repeatedly with a hammer, then stabbed her in the chest with a kitchen knife.
