Hit by the subway in New York, a woman lost both her feet after apparently being pushed onto the tracks by her boyfriend.
The incident occurred around 10:25 a.m. Saturday at the Fulton Street station in Manhattan, according to the New York Post.
The 29-year-old woman argued with her boyfriend before he pushed her, according to a police source met by the American media. The metro line’s power supply was quickly cut off and the woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The suspect reportedly fled, forcing authorities to begin searching for him.
Nearly an hour after these events, a man was reportedly fatally struck by a train after jumping onto the tracks in Midtown.
At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether there is a link between the two events.
