The bus drove off the road near Cesena near the Adriatic Sea and overturned. The cause of the accident is unknown.
The dead is a 32-year-old woman from Ukraine who was trapped in a crashed bus and died from her injuries.
Five more passengers were slightly injured. There were also children among the passengers.
A fire brigade with two special cranes lifted the bus on wheels.
The bus had Ukrainian registration plates and was on its way to the province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region.
