The suspect approached the woman and her 8-year-old son as the train entered the Hunts Point Avenue subway station; then she was attacked
NEW YORK – Police are looking for a man who kicked a 45-year-old woman while riding a northbound 6 train with her son, then hit her over the head with a sock full of coins for no apparent reason last week, say the authorities.
The suspect approached the woman and her 8-year-old son as the train entered the Hunts Point Avenue subway station around 3:45 pm last Thursday. First, the suspect kicked the woman in the foot and then hit her with the coins.
It was unclear what triggered the attack, nor was it known if words were exchanged.
The woman was taken to a hospital to have a head laceration treated; her son was apparently not injured. Authorities released a surveillance image of the suspect to find his whereabouts.
