NEW YORK – A 36-year-old woman was entering a New York City subway elevator with her service cart when a man approached her, appeared to yell at her face and brutally assaulted her, according to images released by police.
As seen in surveillance video released by police Wednesday, the man began beating the victim multiple times after she pushed him, knocking her to the elevator floor at the 125th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station in Harlem. He then dragged the woman out of the elevator by her feet and stole $ 50 in cash, according to police.
The attack, which occurred late in the evening on Nov. 1, left the victim with a swollen face, but she refused to receive medical attention, police said.
No arrests have been made and the police asked anyone with information to contact the NYPD Stop Crime Hotline: 1-888-57-PISATA (74782).
