The police have launched an investigation and the woman has been sent for an autopsy at Gade’s institute in Bergen.
A woman in her 50s was charged on Wednesday with having exercised violence against the woman. The further investigation will clarify whether the death has a direct connection with the violent episode.

– The accused woman has been taken care of by the healthcare system, and we have not yet been able to conduct any questioning of the accused, says police attorney Kirsti Hammerø to NRK.
A judicial observation of the accused woman will be carried out by two psychiatric experts.
– The autopsy report will clarify what injuries the woman has sustained, says Hammerø.
The defender of the accused woman, Torgeir Hovland Langva, says he has no comment on the case at the present time.
There is a relationship between the accused and the deceased. The case appears to be a family tragedy with a strong element of illness, the police say.
Counsel for the family, Gerd C. Haagensen, says she does not wish to comment on the case now.
