A woman in her 30s was found dead at an address in Stord on Tuesday morning. The police are investigating the death.
The alarm center notified the police at 09.49 about the discovery of the woman. The police moved out together with an ambulance, and the woman was confirmed dead at the scene.
– We are conducting a technical and tactical investigation at the scene, and we are still working to find out whether something criminal has happened or not, says operations manager Roger Litlatun in the South West police district at 13:00 on Tuesday.
The police will not release any more information.
To Bergens Tidende says police attorney Åshild Lomeland in the Sørvest police district, it is by definition a suspicious death.
– But that does not mean that someone is a suspect or that something criminal has happened. No one is currently a suspect. The circumstances mean that it should be investigated, says Lomeland.
She adds that they are going wide in the investigation and have several hypotheses.
At 1 p.m., the police state that the woman’s next of kin have been informed.
