Woman in Alaska bitten in the ass by bear hiding under outside toilet | NOW

A woman in the US state of Alaska who wanted to use an outdoor toilet, had to pay for it with a bite wound from a bear. The animal probably used the space under the toilet as a den to survive the winter.

The outside toilet is in a forest near the remote town of Haines. “When I sat down on the toilet seat, I immediately felt something bite my butt”, the woman tells in conversation with AP.

The woman jumped up and looked into the toilet, where her gaze met that of an animal. She then sprinted back to their quarters with her brother, who had come to her screams.

Once inside, the woman turned out to be slightly injured. “The wound was bleeding, but it could be worse,” quotes AP her. The victim was initially thought to have been bitten by a mink. However, experts suspect it is a black bear.

The next morning the bear appeared to have left its ‘den’. The animal likely entered space by squeezing itself through a hatch in the door. “Next time I will look into the toilet before sitting on it,” the woman concludes.
