Woman from Terneuzen finds Holleeder beer crate in the supermarket: ‘Heineken is not happy’ | Inland

Pamela tells Hart van Nederland that the copy attracted quite a bit of attention in the supermarket. Several people wanted to feel the crate and took a picture. Once Pamela got home, she immediately pitched her special purchase to Instagram and Facebook. “This is a serious mistake,” she wrote. “Bought it right away.”

Sensitive

It didn’t take long before Heineken was also aware. Pamela immediately received a call yesterday from the brewery that had also seen her posts. “Heineken is not happy with this joke,” Pamela wrote on Facebook. “They want the crate back for research.” Jokingly, she adds: “So let the bidding begin.”

Heineken collected the crate on Friday in Terneuzen for internal investigation. Willem Holleeder is a sensitive subject for the brewery, as Holleeder was involved in the 1983 kidnapping of Freddy Heineken.

It is therefore a great mystery how the name Holleeder ended up on the Heineken crate, Lisa van der Heijden, spokesperson for Heineken, told De Telegraaf. “It is likely that this is a sticker that has been pasted on it. Anyone can do this. But at least it’s not a manufacturing defect. We always check all crates when they come out of the factory.”

The spokesperson cannot say more about it because the investigation is still ongoing. ,,We are going to try to figure it all out”, says Van der Heijden.
