A gang of fraudsters has struck in Frechen. Despite a well-known scam, the perpetrators managed to rob a woman of several thousand euros and her jewelry. The police are now looking for fake policewomen. But this scam was not the only one.

Woman hands over several thousand euros and jewelry to fake policewomen
In Frechen, a gang posed as police officers and robbed a woman of several thousand euros in cash and her jewelry. On Wednesday evening (07.08.), a man called the woman and reported alleged burglaries involving armed perpetrators in the neighborhood. He offered to have two alleged policewomen collect and secure the valuables. The woman fell for the trick.
Who saw the fake policewomen?
The real police are now searching for the fake policewomen. They are said to be around 40 years old, blonde and both corpulent. At the time of the crime they were in the area between Hubert-Prott-Straße and Holzstraße in Bachem. Anyone with information should contact the police.
The victim was targeted by the perpetrators more than once that day: a few hours earlier, a fake bank employee had called and claimed that the woman from Frechen had been paid counterfeit money. The woman had reported this shortly beforehand.
