Woman Found Critically Injured in Hotel; Suspect Charged with Bodily Harm

This is stated by operations manager Tore Andre Brakstad in a press release.

It was at 1550 that the police received the report about the injured woman, via AMK.

Critically injured

– The woman was found critically injured in a room inside the hotel, says the incident leader at the scene, Frank Listøl.

The hotel is located on Danmarks plass, and is used, among other things, to house Ukrainian refugees.

According to Listøl, the woman was sent to Haukeland hospital with critical injuries, and one person was arrested outside the hotel.

– There is information that suggests that he has something to do with the incident, says the task leader.

Listøl says that the police are waiting for a forensic technician who will arrive soon and who will examine the room where it happened.

In the meantime, police are on the scene gathering information and speaking to witnesses.

– The area is secured and cordoned off, says Listøl.

Charged with bodily harm

– AMK was notified by hotel personnel, says operations manager in the West police district, Tore-Andre Brakstad.

– For now, we are very early in the investigation. I don’t want to say anything more than that this is a man, and that he has been charged with bodily harm, says on-call police attorney Arne Fjellstad.

He will not say anything about whether there are weapons involved, or anything more about what the arrested man is said to have done.

Not looking for other perpetrators

The police are so far very reserved with information in the case, and will not say anything about whether there is a relationship between the victim and the accused.

– We probably know who they are, but will not say anything more about it at this time. We are not looking for other perpetrators, says Brakstad.

Brakstad states that there must have been language challenges between the police and those involved.

The police are in an initial investigation phase and are treating this as a criminal offence, says Brakstad.

The case is updated.
