a woman found an unexpected treasure while cleaning his mother’s house. However, she didn’t know it right away but she found out after she decided to donate it.
It is a toy, a Radicon robot, with which the woman’s mother and her brothers they played when they were kidsmore than 50 years ago.
The woman, whose name is Lee Garrett, and is from Edinburgh, Scotland, couldn’t get over her astonishment when discovered that it was a very rare toy and which has a value of almost 13 thousand dollars.

“The robot had been in the loft for decades And it was only when my brother said he had seen a similar toy on the internet that we decided to take it out of the charity box and do some more research.”
“We expected the robot to be worth a few poundsbut when we heard what it was about and the valuation, we couldn’t believe our ears.”
The woman explained that the money obtained from the sale will be divided equally among the five brothers.
“We asked mom what she wanted to do with him and she said we should sell it and split the proceeds among her five children,” Lee added.
“I would like to think that the lucky new owner you can have so much fun playing with the robot just like we did when we were kids, though I have a feeling it can be kept out of sticky fingers.”
The robot was produced in 1957 by the Japanese toy manufacturer Masudaya.
A member of the ‘Gang of Five’ robots that were only available by special purchase in the late 1950s, It was the first in the set to be produced, which gave him a high status.
The robot is now set to headline McTear’s Antiques and Interiors auction in Glasgow on April 7, and it is expected to reach up to 13 thousand dollars.

“The robot retains its amazing controllercomplete with two of the original colored antennae, and, most importantly, the box, with its fabulous artwork that evokes the sense of wonder that science fiction brought in the 1950s.”
