This morning a woman fell into a deep well in a cemetery in Utrecht.
It happened around 11:15. The woman fell to an estimated depth of five meters and was injured. It is not known how she is now.
The safety region’s height rescue team was initially called, but a specialized team from the fire brigade was able to free the woman. She was taken to the hospital.
RTV Utrecht reports that it is an ossuary near a mound in the center of the Soestbergen cemetery. Human remains were deposited there from graves that had been cleared earlier. The burial mound is also known as the Ring of Zocher, after the designer and architect Jan David Zocher jr.
