Bengaluru: A woman died in a fire while using a mobile phone at a petrol pump. The incident took place in Tumkur district of Karnataka. The fire broke out while filling the can with petrol. 18-year-old Bhavya died.
The incident happened on Wednesday. Bhavya and mother Ratnamma reached the petrol station on a scooter. Ratnamma got off the bike and was standing at a distance. Bhavya was sitting on the bike using her mobile phone. The petrol station employee was filling the plastic can given to Bhavya when the fire suddenly broke out. The initial conclusion is that the mobile phone may have caught fire.
Bhavya was seriously injured and was undergoing treatment at the Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. But his life could not be saved. India Today reports that Ratnamma’s health condition is not worried. A case has been registered at the Badavanahalli police station.
