– A tour group of ten people has been in the mountain area. Then one of the people slipped down steep terrain and fell into the fall, says operations manager Ulf Slettan to Dagbladet.
Relatives have been notified, and the crisis team in Vågan municipality is connected.
The deceased woman and at least one other from the tour group were transported down by rescue helicopter, Slettan states.
The tour group is now gathered after descending from the mountain top, and receives assistance from the crisis team.
The police were notified of the incident at 14.30.
– The police are investigating this as an accident, as a so-called investigation case in relation to the cause of the accident, Slettan says.
The tour group consisted mostly of local people from the area, and the police have the impression that these are people accustomed to hiking, writes NTB.
