The woman wanted to get on at the Schubertplein stop with a pram. The driver asked her to do this at the entrance intended for this. An altercation culminated in a fight between the two women, in which the driver was punched multiple times in the face.
‘Painful experience’
According to a spokesperson for transport company RET, the employer of the driver, it is “totally unacceptable” that this has happened. The woman is now doing well, but the shock is great. “It is a very painful experience for her. You have to stay away from our colleagues.” RET has reported the abuse. “This is just really not possible.”
The Schiedamse had run away, but could be arrested a little later.
