A woman was arrested today during the protest of the energy workers and miners, which blocked the Trakia highway for another day. She is 45 years old and is neither an energy worker nor a miner, announced the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Stara Zagora, Senior Commissioner Lazar Hristov.
Around 11 o’clock, a group of disaffected people tried to block the bypass road, which is currently taking traffic from the highway near the village of Rakitnitsa in Stara Zagora. The protesters did not obey the police order to clear the roadway.
Claims appeared on social networks that the arrested woman is an activist of a political party who decided to ride on someone else’s protest. According to Commissioner Hristov, the protesting miners and energy workers have distanced themselves from the actions in question.
