Kollam: Ramsey’s sister fled with a member of a social media protest group demanding justice for the victim in the suicide of Ramsey (24), a native of Kottiyam, after her fianc withdrew from the marriage.
The two were arrested by the police from Muvattupuzha. Akhil (19), a resident of Nedumangad, was arrested along with his sister Annecy, who led the agitation in connection with Ramsey’s death. Her husband Muneer had lodged a complaint with the Eravipuram police stating that he had not seen Anne for the past 18 years. The two were arrested following a tip-off that they were hiding in Muvattupuzha. Both were handed over to the Eravipuram police.
Annecy’s interview about Ramsey’s death received a lot of publicity on social media. There were also protests demanding justice. The case of Ramsey’s death is being investigated by the Crime Branch. The serial actress and others were granted anticipatory bail in the Ramsey suicide case. Ramsey committed suicide on September 3 last year. She was engaged to a young man she had been in love with for years. But when another financially improved marriage proposal came up, he complained that he had avoided Ramsey and had committed suicide out of remorse.
The complaint against the serial actress is in the case of Ramsey forging a fake marriage certificate to perform a forced abortion while she was three months pregnant. Relatives complained to police that Sister Annecy was missing while the crime branch was investigating.
