A woman in the Regency Malang, East Java, with the initials P is suspected of committing money politics. He was caught distributing envelopes containing Rp. 50 thousand denominations, allegedly to support one of the candidate pairs.
Reported detikJatim, Monday (12/2/2024), the alleged money politics that occurred in Panjang Village, Gondanglegi, Malang is currently being investigated by Bawaslu, Malang Regency. The discovery of the distribution of money was then reported to the RT Head who then forwarded it to the village head until it ended up at the Bawaslu table.
“So basically there was an activity in question, giving money to one of the candidate pairs (Presidential Election). This finding was reported to the RT and village head,” said Malang Regency Bawaslu Head of Prevention, Community Participation and Public Relations, Muhamad Hazairin, to journalists in his office, Monday (12/2/2024).
The perpetrator was then arrested along with the evidence. However, from the results of the clarification, the perpetrator denied that the money was given to residents in connection with the winning of one of the candidate pairs.
Hazairin was reluctant to say what candidate pair number P conveyed to the residents when giving him the Rp. 50 thousand note. The perpetrator is known to have given envelopes to 5 residents. The total money P brought was IDR 1 million.
“One of the candidate pairs, in the presidential election. What is certain is that the money is used to elect presidential and vice presidential candidates in their community every Legi Friday,” he explained.
