The discovery of parts of a dismembered body inside a freezer sealed with tape shocked the residents of an apartment building in Brooklyn.
On Monday, police entered apartment 4 C on the third floor of the building located at 2069 Nostrand Avenue, in East Flatbush, around 7:10 p.m.
Authorities found the dismembered body of a man in a freezer sealed with tape.
The police had responded after receiving an anonymous call and found the remains of a man inside a refrigerator sealed with tape.
Authorities took an unidentified woman into custody.
The detainee was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
“La Güera”, the woman arrested after finding a body in the freezer
The neighbors only knew her as “La Güera” because of her white skin and blonde hair and pointed out that she was allegedly a regular user of different drugs.
They added that the woman is between 45 and 48 years old and used to ask other tenants for money.
“She asked me to give her money by force, but I didn’t pay attention, but when she was well she was a normal, calm person who didn’t mess with anyone,” said one of her neighbors.
They added that “La Güera” in no way allowed anyone to enter the kitchen.
“She used drugs, she injected, she used fentanyl, crack and pills every day,” Dorothy Williams detailed.
“He told us not to go near the kitchen when we entered his apartment,” he added.
Criminal experts are trying to determine the identity of the victim, his age, under what circumstances he died and how long his dismembered remains remained inside the refrigerator.
The woman is considered a person of interest until this Thursday and no charges have yet been filed against her.

Although it is believed that the incident occurred due to a problem or damage to the rails, the MTA doubts that it was due to lack of maintenance. “We did an inspection in November,” said Richard Davey, president of NYC Transit.
