Durham.- The tranquility in south Durham on Saturday night was interrupted by a fatal car crash that left a tragic outcome.
The incident occurred on Page Road, near Holloman Road.
The Traffic and Accident Team (TACT) of the Durham Police Department is investigating the car crash, which occurred at approximately 8:37 p.m. and claimed the lives of a woman and a small child.
The accident involved two vehicles: a black 2015 Infiniti QX60, driven by Rodney Brower, 56, who was traveling northbound, and a blue 2008 Chevy Cobalt, in which Sherri Walker, 35, was traveling. accompanied by three children under five years old and another adult.
Authorities reported that, inexplicably, both vehicles collided head-on on the dark stretch of road, with devastating consequences.
Brower was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
However, Walker, who, despite the efforts of emergency services, died shortly after being taken to hospital.
Among the passengers of the Chevy Cobalt, a young child also succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the other two children and the adult were treated for injuries that, while serious, are not life-threatening.
