The police in Oslo report that they are at the Grorud center in Oslo, where a woman has been subjected to violence and driven away from the scene in a car.

– There is a witness who calls us and observes the incident, and sees her being taken away in a car. The woman was beaten and bleeding from the face. It is serious enough, but then you get possible deprivation of liberty into the picture, says operations manager Tor Grøttum to VG at 18.23.

In an update at 18:37, the police write that they have control over both the man and the woman.

– They were stopped at Tåsen in the car we were looking for. We are working to get clarity on the extent of the damage and what has happened, the police write.

– We don’t know the relationship or who it is, says Grøttum, and adds that the police have access to a video from the incident.

The police write that the incident happened at around 5.30pm in the car park under Grorud centre, and at the same time they are asking for any witnesses to get in touch.

Guard leader at Grorud Centre, Igor Laketa, stands with the police when VG calls at 6.20pm.

Laketa claims to have spoken to the witness to the incident.

The witness is said to have tried to get between the man and the woman when the violent incident unfolded.

Presumably the man and woman were in their 20s, according to Laketa.

– When he (witness journalist’s note) approaches them, the young man drags the woman into the car and drives off, says Laketa.

The witness must not have been subjected to violence.
