Woman accused of attempted murder after stabbing in Tysvær – VG

A woman in her forties was arrested after police received a report of a stabbing at a private address in Aksdal, Tysvær municipality, around 10 am. She is now accused of attempted murder.

The injured man, in his fifties, was transported by air ambulance to Stavanger University Hospital. He was then conscious.

Police are still in place with tactical and technical investigators to secure the scene and interrogate witnesses. There must have been several people nearby when the accident happened.

The police wrote this in a statement.

Operations leader Fritz Arne Lilleskog in the Sør-West police district told the VG freelancer on the spot that the police were notified of the incident shortly after 10 am on Saturday morning.

– The police moved and arrested a woman in her forties. The victim is a man in his fifties, he was assisted by police and ambulance and was eventually flown to Stavanger University Hospital, Lilleskog says.

– He was conscious, but had several injuries to his body, which meant he was flown to the hospital by air ambulance.

Several people were present where the crime took place. The police are now on the spot, carrying out tactical and technical investigations.

The police will return with more information on the case when they have the overview.

– Now the task is to take care of those who were present, as well as investigate further to find out what happened and why, stresses the group leader.

The police have control of both the victim and the accused in the case.
