Woman (23) died after the attempted murder in Åsane – NRK Vestland

– After the family was notified of the extremely serious and brutal incident of violence last Sunday, they have been watching over her day and night. They are now in a bottomless grief over having lost a young, cheerful and resourceful girl in such a cruel and tragic way.

That’s what the family’s welfare lawyer, Beate Hamre, says.

– Friday night, the police received a message from Haukeland that the woman who was found badly injured in an apartment on Sunday night died of the injuries. The police have not been able to question the woman and now I would like to have an autopsy performed on her.

This is what police lawyer Sven Arne Dahl-Michelsen tells NRK.

Last Sunday, the police moved out to an apartment at Nyborg in Åsane and arrested a man for attempted murder of a woman in her twenties.

The man is said to have stabbed the woman a number of times inside the apartment.

The woman was seriously injured and sent to Haukeland University Hospital by ambulance.

– Today we have changed the charge against the accused from attempted murder to murder. He has not been questioned since he was arrested, he was today informed of the new charge by his defender, says Dahl-Michelsen.

No interrogation

The police have not planned any interrogation of him today and they state that it is unclear when it may be.

In recent days, Kripos has been working on crime scene investigations and new seizures have been made at the crime scene.

– For the sake of the investigation, the police can not state which seizures have been made or which investigations Kripos has assisted with. In the further investigation, the police will continue with questioning of witnesses, as well as review and analyze electronic clues.

According to the police, the woman and the accused man did not live together, but have a relationship with each other.

He was produced for imprisonment on Monday and is in custody for four weeks.

On Saturday, the man was informed by his lawyer, Torbjørn Sognefest, that the woman was dead and that he is now charged with murder.

– This was the worst possible outcome, is Sognefest’s short comment to NRK.

Asked for assistance from Kripos

The police were notified of the violent incident at 04.41 on Sunday night.

One neighbor informed NRK on the spot that he woke up to a lot of noise from the apartment.

Police searched the apartment with crew and dogs. The next day, the police reported that they had seized an object at the scene in Åsane.

Tuesday asked the police for assistance from Kripos for the crime scene investigations.
