Wolverhampton striker Jiménez released from hospital week after skull fracture | NOW

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raúl Jiménez left hospital on Tuesday. The Mexican suffered a skull fracture more than a week ago during the competition match with Arsenal (1-2 win).

According to Wolverhampton, 29-year-old Jiménez is doing well. “He is now resting at home with his family”, the English club reports Twitter.

Jiménez collided hard with Arsenal defender David Luiz in the first minutes of the game at the Emirates Stadium and was cared for for a long time. He left the field on a stretcher, was given oxygen and was taken to hospital.

In a hospital in London it became clear that he had suffered a skull fracture. The 86-time international was operated successfully a day later.

Jiménez is a major force for Wolverhampton, which took him over from Benfica in the summer of 2019. Since then, the striker, who is an 82-time Mexican international, has scored 48 goals on behalf of the club in 110 official games.

It is still unclear how long Jiménez will have to recover. Wolverhampton Wanderers, number ten in the Premier League, will play at home against Aston Villa on Saturday.
