Wolhusen/Reiden: Two drivers pulled out of traffic while under the influence of alcohol

A drunken driver had an accident in Wolhusen on Monday evening. He had to be driven to hospital by emergency services 144. In Reiden, a man called at the police station on Monday afternoon. It was determined that he had previously been driving his car under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Wolhusen: Drunk driver causes accident
On Monday at around 7:45 p.m. in Wolhusen, an alcoholic driver with a blood alcohol level of 2.1 left the road at the junction of Sonnenbühl and Ulmenweg and got his vehicle stuck in an embankment. The 78-year-old was injured in the accident and had to be taken to hospital by emergency services 144. A blood sample was ordered. He is no longer allowed to drive a motor vehicle until the Road Traffic Office decides.

Reiden: Drunk driver stopped
Also on Monday at around 3:00 p.m., a 45-year-old Spaniard drove to the Reiden police station. When he approached the police, they could smell alcohol. Because of this, a breath alcohol test was carried out. This resulted in a value of 0.56 per mille. A rapid drug test also came back positive. A blood and urine sample was ordered to check driving ability. The man is no longer allowed to drive a motor vehicle until the Road Traffic Office decides.
