Wolfsburg (dpa) – – Wolfsburg women’s football is moving back to the larger Volkswagen Arena for the Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt. The club announced it on Monday. The German women’s champion hopes for a large audience again in the match on December 3 (13:00). Most recently, on 23 October, 21,287 spectators turned up at the arena for the biggest match against Bayern Munich (2-1). Green-and-whites usually play in the smaller AOK stadium. Wolfsburg are currently in first place, Frankfurt in second.

“The evocative scenario of over 20,000 fans in the biggest match against FC Bayern Munich proved once again that our concept of playing selected VfL women’s highlights in the Volkswagen Arena works,” said Tim Schumacher, managing director head of women’s football at VfL Wolfsburg.
